We removed a large dead oak tree on the property here in the Sequoia National Forest and had to call our friend Dave to help split the huge pieces of oak. Dave showed up with this splitter. As he pulled it up the driveway on the back of his truck, I laughed and said, "Chitty's here!" If you have seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the wild inventions of the Dick Van Dyke character, you know what I mean.

This particular Chitty is Dave's invention. Dave commented 'This is not OSHA approved." Now might be the appropriate time to mention that Dave is missing part of his thumb.
